New Jersey Driving on a Suspended License Attorney

New Jersey Revoked License Attorney

Once the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission suspends a driver's license, there is no recourse. New Jersey does not offer a restrictive license. In these situations, unfortunately, a driver must find a friend or use public transportation to get to work, school or perform errands.

At The Law Offices of Martin A. Kron, our lawyers fight to protect the driving privileges of our clients, but individuals who are caught driving on a suspended license face serious consequences, including:

  • First offense: Fine of $500 and up to six months additional license and/or registration suspension.
  • Second offense: Fine of $750, jail sentence for not more than five days and up to six months additional license and/or registration suspension.
  • Third offense: Fine of $1000, a 10-day jail sentence and up to six months additional license and/or registration suspension.

Obviously, each violation increases in consequences. In certain circumstances, the above penalties can be enhanced. Additionally, out-of-state violations are considered predicates for new violations. It is important to seek the counsel of an experienced firm to get your violations reduced or dismissed so you do not reach the point of having a suspended license. If you are stopped by law enforcement while driving with a suspended or revoked license, we will fight to minimize your consequences.
